True cost of a "cheap" job

The true cost of having someone work on your roof "on the cheap".

A client in Abergele called us in to fit new ridge tiles on the roof of their house and also to make good a repair carried out recently by another local roofer.

Instead of fixing the new dry verge components properly these "cowboy" roofers used silicone sealant to glue the sections in position.

The result: the whole lot peeled away in the first storm.

Current Building Regulations require that on new roofs ridge tiles should be mechanically fixed and not just bedded in mortar.
We go one better and mechanically fix ridge tiles as part of a roof repair.  This is better than the regulations require.
