New roof on terraced house - WEST SHORE, LLANDUDNO
In these pictures you can see the MEC team replacing an old and leaking roof on a terraced house.
First the old and damaged slates are removed; then the rotten battens and finally the old leaking sarking felt.
The roof is then inspected to check for any further damage.
New waterproof sarking and battens are fixed in position.
The team get work fixing the new slates
And adding a rooflight so that the roofspace can be used - if only for storage.
And then it's job done - with the minimum of fuss and mess. The new roofing materials interlaced into the two adjoining properties and a mechanically fixed row of ridge tiles for enhanced weather resistance.
Another successful project - yet another happy client.

Replacing tiled roof on bungalow
The tiles on this roof had begun to let water through to the membrane and battening below with the result that the roof timbers were begining to rot. Superficial, largely cosmetic repairs carried out by other contractors on a previous occasion had only delayed the inevitable - a complete re-roof was necessary.
Thouroughly strip out the old components
New sarking membrane and battens
Improve construction of valley where roof lines intersect
New roof complete
And another satisfied client!

New clay tile roof installed in Llandulas.
Our survey revealed the old roof timbers were rotted in many places. There was even a huge abandoned wasps nest. Prolongued insect infestation can call real damage to roof timbers.

So many types of paving
From our office in Cheshire we now offer so many types of paving for driveways, parking areas, leisure areas, paths and general landscaping.
The picture above illustrates some of the range: random block sets, textured paving slabs, brick effect - or for a low cost infill you can have decorative chippings.
Clay or concrete brick paving is still the most popular for driveways.
But the RESIN BONDED chipping option is becoming increasingly popular - subtle but still eye-catching.

Repairs to church
This month we were called in to make a number of repairs to the roof of the fine old church, St.Annes, in Rhyl.
The repairs included the inspection of the whole roof, repair loose and damaged slates where necessary, new leadwork, flashings, etc. and replacement of damaged guttering.
"And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall." - Matthew 7:24-27
