Working in Trem-y-Mor

Simple preventative measures which cost very little can save you a lot of money later.

Here, roof and gutter cleaning in Trem-y-Mor, Abergele.

Keeping the rainwater goods clear prevents overflowing, mould and moss growth, and damage to joints.  In winter as temperatures drop, blocked pipes can suffer cracking and bursting during freeze and thaw cycles.

Sheds and chalets

We now do even more.
Short of storage space in the house?  Garage already filled to busting.
Good news: now we build and supply garden sheds.

And not just any old shed.
We construct garden rooms, sun rooms, chalets, offices.  And the great thing is you don't need planning permission or building regulations approval.

A little something tucked away in that part of the garden you never use could be the most cost effective way of adding that much needed extra room to your house.

Re-tiling and re-slating

M.E. Contractors are experts at replacing both slate and tile roofs.

Older slates were heavier often causing roofing support timbers to sag.

Not only can we transform the appearance of your property we can improve the thermal insulation so cutting down your heating bills.

Synthetic slate looks exactly like the real thing but is often less expensive.

Composite "synthetic slate"

We also install concrete and clay tiles

Re-tiling and re-slating a roof

At some stage in a roof’s life it is going to need more than just minor roof repairs.. A well constructed pitched roof can last 100 years and longer but if a couple of lead valleys have gone, a few ridge tiles have cracked, some individual tiles or slates have slipped and there are leaks or condensation appearing in the loft then it may be time for a full refurbishment of your roof.

M E Contractors will carryout – for no charge or obligation – a full inspection of your roof to check if selective repair or a full replacement is necessary.  We will never talk up the job or tell you more work is necessary than is actually the case.

The cross-battening should be replaced because, over time, there has probably been some sagging even if no rot is present.  The old sarking felt should be replaced with the more modern vapour permeable water shedding type.

Our skilled and qualified staff can install your new roof quickly and economically with the minimum of disruption.

Now is the time to make those little repairs

It's summer and everything in the garden is rosey - provided Brexit, the falling pound, a stock market crash, terrorism and Russian sabre-rattling does not bother you.

But while you're relaxing in the garden without a care in the world just remember that autumn is only a little more than 60 days away.  A few quid spent now on those little jobs - that loose piece of felt, the leaking gutter, that ridge tile where the mortar has fallen away - will save you a lot of grief (and expense) when those inevitable autumn storms arrive.

It will cost you nothing to have us come and take a look - not a penny, zilch, nadda!

And if it is a small job it will cost you very little to fix the problem.  We promise we won't talk up the job.  We'll always find the most cost effective fix for you.
